POLISH CABBAGE ROLLS | |
1 lb. ground beef 1 sm. onion 1/2 c. cooked rice or Minute Rice 1/2 tsp. salt Pepper 1 lg. cabbage Canned tomatoes, tomato juice or tomato soup 1 tsp. brown sugar 1 tsp. lemon juice Brown onion in a little butter; add to raw meat and rice. Add salt and pepper and mix together. Steam large cabbage to remove leaves easily. Place about 2 tablespoons meat mixture on each cabbage leaf and fold over and roll up. Stick with a toothpick if necessary to hold together. Place stuffed rolled cabbage leaves in pot. Add canned tomatoes, juice or soup. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, brown sugar and lemon juice. Cover and simmer on stove for 2 hours. |
