LIVER AND ONIONS
I'm sorry so but I am one of those cooks that never measure, I just eye my cooking. Here it goes...

1 pkg. calf liver
Crisco vegetable shortening
butter
1 jar Heinz gravy
1 onion
1 egg
paprika
garlic powder
black pepper
seasoned salt (Lawry's)
flour
liquid smoke
hot sauce

Rinse calf liver, season both sides with paprika, garlic powder, black pepper and seasoned salt. Pour egg on top of liver to cover.

Flour liver and place gently into a hot 8-inch skillet (Crisco shortening). About 6 mins per side. Drain on paper towel, set aside.

In the same skillet, cut 1 onion and sauté with liver drippings. Add a good slice of butter (about the amount you would put on a biscuit). Then pour in the jar of gravy a little at a time adding back a piece of liver until its all back in the skillet. Add liquid smoke. Cover and let simmer for about 15 minutes.

Now you ready to eat some good liver, just hit it with some hot sauce!

Yummy!
