CORNBREAD 
1 c. cornmeal
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1 c. white flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sour milk

Mix ingredients together and bake in 9 inch square pan at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

May also be microwaved in round cake dish. Microwave for 4 minutes on high. Turn dish 90 degrees and cook 4 more minutes. If not done, cook an additional 2 minutes.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
