CHICKEN, SAUSAGE AND WILD RICE CASSEROLE | |
1 lb. pork sausage 1 lb. mushrooms, sliced 2 med. lg. onions, sliced 1 (2 1/2 - 3 lb.) chicken (or equivalent in chicken breasts) cooked, boned and cut in bite size pieces 1 box UNCLE BEN'S® wild rice with herbs and seasonings 1/4 c. flour 1/2 c. heavy or light cream 2 1/2 c. chicken broth Saute sausage and set aside. In the fat, saute mushrooms and onion. Add sausage and chicken. Cook wild rice according to package directions. Mix flour with cream until smooth; add chicken broth and cook until thickened. Season to taste and combine with rice, sausage, chicken and vegetables. Pour into a baking dish and bake 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees. |
