BRISKET OF BEEF (IN BEER SAUCE) | |
3 to 4 lb. beef brisket 1 onion, sliced salt and pepper 2 tbsp. dark brown sugar 1 (12 oz.) can beer 1/4 cup chili sauce (Heinz) 2 cloves garlic, minced 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour 1/2 cup water Cover meat with sliced onions. Season meat. Mix all remaining ingredients except flour and water, pour over meat. Cover baking dish with aluminum foil. Bake at 350°F for 3 1/2 hours, covered. Uncover and bake 30 minutes more. Baste meat. Remove from dish. Skim off fat (if desired). Add 2 tablespoons flour to 1/2 cup water. Blend into pan drippings. Cook sauce until thick. Submitted by: Linda Soucek |
