COKE FLOAT
Put a scoop of vanilla ice cream into a tall glass. Pour Coke over the ice cream. Stir things up a little. Add another scoop of ice cream on top. Stick a straw through the scoop and serve. These were popular in the age of the soda jerk, often served at drug store counters in the 20's and 30's. They were often served in coke shaped glasses (wide at the top with a narrow bottom) set in a frame with a metal handle. Submitted by: CM

I find if you pour the soda pop in the glass first and beat some of the fizz out of it, then put in the ice cream it doesn't fizz up quite as much. Just top it off with a splash of soda.
