PEGGY'S GINGER COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. unsulfured molasses
1 egg
2 c. flour
extra sugar (for coating)
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. ginger
2 tbsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves

Cream the shortening and sugar. Add the molasses and egg and beat well. Add the sifted dry ingredients. Roll teaspoonful of dough in sugar and place on cookie sheet.

Bake at 375°F for 8 minutes.
