GRANDMA'S VANILLA PUDDING 
2 1/2 c. milk
1 or 2 egg yolks
1/2 c. sugar
2 heaping tbsp. cornstarch
Pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1-2 tsp. butter

Pour 2 cups milk in saucepan, add salt. Turn on heat. Pour in sugar - do not stir.

Mix cornstarch with remaining milk. Add egg yolk and stir well. When milk comes to a rolling boil, remove from heat and stir while pouring in cornstarch liquid. The pudding thickens instant and is smooth.

Put pudding back on fire 30-60 seconds while stirring. Remove from heat and add vanilla and butter. Stir and pour into serving dishes.
