GREAT GRANDMA'S PLUM PUDDING | |
1/2 lb. common crackers 2 qt. milk 1 lb. seedless raisins, scalded 1/4 lb. citron or any dried fruit 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. molasses 1/4 c. sugar 2 eggs, beaten Break up the crackers by hand and soak in 1 quart of milk, then add second quart of milk. Add the remaining ingredients making sure that the eggs are added last. Bake quick for 1 hour, then slow for 2-3 hours. HARD SAUCE FOR PLUM PUDDING: 1 c. confectioners' sugar 1/2 c. butter 1 egg white, beaten stiff 1/2 tsp. vanilla Cream the above ingredients together. |
