JC PEANUT BRITTLE 
3 c. sugar
2/3 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. water
1/3 c. sorghum or dark molasses

Combine in a heavy saucepan over medium heat until temperature reaches 280 degrees on a candy thermometer stirring often.

3 cups peanuts or any other kind of nuts warmed in an oven.

Add and continue cooking until temperature reaches 300 degrees (hard crack stage). Add 2 teaspoons baking soda and stir gently but quickly. At once, pour candy onto a butter greased sheet 18 x 24 aluminum foil on a wooden board without spreading. Cool. Break into pieces. Makes 2 1/2 pounds.
