BARBECUED RIBS 
4 1/2 to 5 lbs. country style spareribs

Wash ribs and pat dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper and brown in frying pan. While ribs are browning, make the sauce.

Brown 1 large onion (diced), 1 cup celery (diced), 1 cup celery (diced), in 2 tablespoons shortening. Add 4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar, 4 tablespoons brown sugar, 6 to 8 tablespoons lemon juice, 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon yellow mustard, 1 small bottle ketchup, with 1 cup water. Salt and pepper to taste.

Place browned ribs in roasting pan. Do not add drippings. Cover with sauce and bake, uncovered in 350 degree oven until ribs are done (about 1 to 1 1/2 hours).

A good laugh is sunshine in a house.
