BROWN SUGAR POUND CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 box plus 1 c. light brown sugar
5 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 1/2 c. flour
1 c. milk
1 1/4 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, shortening and brown sugar, 1 cup at a time, beating well. Add eggs. Sift baking powder and flour. Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Add vanilla. Pour into well greased tube pan lined with waxed paper. Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes at 325 degrees.

FILLING:

1 stick butter
1 c. chopped pecans
1 box powdered sugar
Milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine 1/2 stick of butter and pecans. Cook until brown. Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients adding enough milk to spread. Mix well. Spread over cake.
