STEWED CELERY 
1 bunch celery
4 strips bacon
2-3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 med. onion, chopped
1 (20 oz.) can tomatoes or 6-8 lg. peeled, chopped tomatoes
2 bay leaves
Salt, pepper

Cut bacon into 1/2 inch pieces. In skillet brown bacon, onion and garlic. Add tomatoes, bay leaves, salt and pepper. Stir and cover. Cook over low heat as you chop celery into small pieces. Add celery and simmer until celery is tender-crisp. Cooking time 1 hour depending on size of celery pieces.
