RAISIN BARS 
Crust:

1 c. lard or butter
2 cups oatmeal
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt

Filling:

3 cups raisins, grind in food grinder
3/4 c. white sugar
1 c. water
3 tsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Combine all crust ingredients together. Take half of crust mixture and pat into a 9x13 cake pan. Mix all filling ingredients together in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil for 2 minutes. Spread filling mixture over crust and top with other half of crust. Pat lightly and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
