DESSERT RING 
1/2 c. scalded milk
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. butter
1 beaten egg
1/2 cake yeast or 1 pkg. yeast
2 c. flour

Pour scalded milk over sugar and butter in large bowl. Stir until dissolved. Cool to lukewarm. Stir in egg, crumbled yeast; mix until dissolved. Stir in 1 cup flour, beat until smooth. Stir in rest of flour, beat until smooth. Brush with oil.

Cover. Let rise until double in bulk. Punch down. Roll into a rectangle 13x7 inch. Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and raisins. Then roll up. Place on cookie sheet, greased, in a semi-circle. Cut almost through at 1 inch intervals. Let rise. Bake 400 degree oven for 15 minutes. Cool slightly. Brush with 6 tablespoons confectioners' sugar and 2 teaspoons milk, combined.
