GRANDMA MOTE'S CHERRY COBBLER
PUDDING
 
2 (#2) cans Bing cherries
1 c. sugar

You can substitute 2 cans cherry (apple? etc.) pie filling

1 c. sugar
1 c. Nucco or butter
2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sweet milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom and sides of 13 x 9 x 2 inch glass baking dish. If you use cans of fruit pie filling - omit the following: pour 1 cup sugar over well drained cherries and let stand until sugar dissolves. Cream sugar and Nucco or butter. Sift flour and baking powder together. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternately with milk.

Spread this batter out in a greased baking dish. Pour cherry mixture over batter and stir a little here and there to make marble effect. Bake for 40 minutes or until dough is done. Serve warm with cream or cold.
