CHEESY TACO STICKS | |
These Cheesy Taco Sticks make a fun and festive snack or appetizer! Arrange the taco sticks on a serving platter, then place a variety of sauces and dressings in small decorative bowls intermittently around the taco sticks. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and small jalapenos and assorted mini peppers if desired. 1 lb. lean ground beef 1 packet taco seasoning mix 1 tube Pillsbury pizza dough 5 Colby Jack and Cheddar cheese sticks, cut in half 4 tbsp. butter, melted 1 tsp. garlic powder 1 tbsp. minced fresh cilantro (optional) FOR DIPPING: Taco Bell Avocado Ranch, Chipotle, Jalapeno, or Spicy Ranchero Sauce (found in Mexican section of grocery), or Spicy Ranch or Southwest Ranch dressing Preheat oven to 425°F. Lightly coat a large baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray and set aside. Cook the ground beef in a skillet, breaking up with a wooden spoon until browned and cooked through. Drain any grease. Mix the taco seasoning into the beef and stir until well-combined. Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature. Lay the pizza dough out flat. Cut in half lengthwise, then cut each half into 5 equal rectangles to form a total of 10 rectangles. Place a heaping tablespoon of the taco meat in the center of each rectangle, then top with a halved cheese stick. Carefully roll up the pizza sticks, making sure to pinch all of the seams closed. Combine the melted butter, garlic powder and cilantro in a small bowl and brush over the tops of the cheesy taco sticks. Bake at 425°F for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown on top. Serve hot with sauces/dressings of choice for dipping! Note: Can also serve with traditional taco sauce, salsa, sour cream, or guacamole. Submitted by: Carol |
