"BIG MAC"-A-RONI SALAD | |
1 lb. pasta (large elbows, rotini, penne, ziti) 1/2-3/4 lb. lean ground beef 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 medium white onion, chopped 1/2 cup chopped dill pickles 1 (16 oz.) bottle Thousand Island dressing 8 oz. cubed American or Cheddar cheese 2 cups shredded Iceberg lettuce (optional) Boil pasta al denté; drain. Meanwhile, brown ground beef with salt and onion; drain if necessary. In large bowl, combine cooked pasta, beef/onion mixture, chopped pickles, and Thousand Island dressing. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour. Just before serving, stir in cheese cubes. Add shredded lettuce to individual portions to avoid it becoming soggy should there be leftovers. Best served at room temperature. Note: Toasted sesame seeds can be sprinkled in for even more "Big Mac" flavor. Submitted by: Carol |
