GERMAN SWEET - SOUR BEANS 
2 strips bacon
1 c. minced onion
1 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. bean fluid
1/4 c. water
1/4 c. vinegar
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 pkg. (9 oz.) frozen cut-up green beans, cooked (reserve liquid)
Or 1 can (1 lb.) green beans, drained (reserve liquid)

Brown bacon until crisp. Remove bacon. Saute onion in bacon fat until yellow. Stir in flour. Add liquids and seasonings; bring to boil. Stir in beans. Heat through. Sprinkle with crisp bacon bits. Serves 4.
