1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix together shortening and sugar. Beat in thoroughly the egg. Sift together the flour, soda, and salt. Mix the vanilla into the milk. Alternately add flour mixture and milk to the creamed sugar-shortening. Drop by teaspoons on lightly greased baking sheet. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake 12 to 15 minutes in moderate-hot oven at 400 degrees.
