SWEDISH TEA RING 
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1/2 c. warm water (105 to 115 degrees)
1 egg
1 tbsp. granulated sugar
2 1/2 c. Bisquick baking mix
2 tbsp. soft butter
1/3 c. brown sugar (packed)
1/3 c. raisins
2 tsp. cinnamon
6 to 10 walnuts, halved or chopped
6 cherries (maraschino) halved

In large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in egg, 1 tablespoon granulated sugar and the baking mix; beat vigorously. Turn dough onto a floured surface. Knead until smooth, about 20 times. Roll into rectangle, 16 x 9 inches; spread with butter and sprinkle with mixture of 1/3 cup sugar, the raisins and cinnamon.

Roll up, beginning at wide side. Pinch edge of dough into roll to seal. With seam side down, shape into a ring on greased baking sheet; pinch ends together. With scissors, make cuts 2/3 of the way through ring at 1 inch intervals. turn each section on its side. Let rise in warm place (85 degrees) until double, about 1 hour. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Bake 15 minutes or until golden brown. frost with Quick Icing. Sprinkle or place walnuts into warm icing. Place whole or halved maraschino cherries (cut side down) onto warm frosting. Serve warm.

QUICK ICING:

1 c. confectioners' sugar
1 to 2 tsp. warm water
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Beat together until smooth.
