PORCUPINE BALLS 
1 lb. ground beef
3 tbsp. chopped onion
1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning
1/2 c. raw rice, washed (not minute rice)
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. shortening
1 (4 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 c. water

Mix all except shortening, tomato sauce and water. Form into 10-12 small balls. Brown in fat, drain excess fat. Add tomato sauce and water. Simmer 40-45 minutes until rice is tender.
