MEXICAN GUACAMOLE
2 medium avocados
1/2 tomato, chopped
1/4 onion, minced
squeeze of lemon juice
garlic powder
salt
optional:
some chopped cilantro
1/2 jalapeņo, minced

Scoop the avocado out into a bowl using a spoon. Mash with a fork. Squeeze in lemon juice, add salt and garlic powder to taste, chopped tomato, minced onion, (chopped cilantro, minced jalapeņo), and mix.

Tip: To keep the guacamole from turning brown, put the seed from one of the avocados in the bowl of guacamole. It keeps the guacamole bright green.

No, the lemon juice does the trick of not turning the avocado green to brown, that's a myth-the seed in the bowl...

Put plastic wrap over the guac and press it down so there's no air between the plastic and guac. This will keep it from turning brown.

I don't use tomatoes and fresh onion but I do put in chopped lettuce, red bell pepper, black olives, tiny chopped carrots, and also a couple large spoonfuls of sour cream!!! Yum!

This is a really yummy recipe. However i used a whole roma tomato and lime juice. I didn't have any cilantro on me but I chopped up 2 cloves of garlic and it tasted amazing!

Yep, skip the garlic powder and use real garlic.

This is the authentic way to make guacamole but if you don't add anything to the avocado its even better. There are many methods of keeping the guacamole from turning brown.
