APPLE, HONEY, AND RAISIN BREAD | |
1 c. whole wheat flour 1 c. rye flour 3/4 c. bread or all-purpose flour 3 tsp. salt 2 tsp. cinnamon 2 pkgs. dry yeast 1 1/2 c. raisins 2 c. chopped apples 1/2 c. honey 1 1/4 c. hot water 1/4 c. butter In a large bowl, stir together wheat flour, rye, 2 cups of bread flour, salt, cinnamon, yeast, raisins, and apples; set aside. Pour hot water over butter and honey melting both. When liquid temperature is between 125 to 130 degrees, slowly add to dry ingredients. While mixing, add remaining flour as needed, Knead for 10 minutes by hand or 5 minutes if using a mixer. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let stand in a warm place until doubled. Punch down and shape into 3 small or 2 large round loaves. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. |
