SUGAR CAKES 
2 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
3 eggs
1 c. mil
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
4 c. flour
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar, Crisco, add eggs; stir in soda into milk; set aside. Blend in dry ingredients, add milk and vanilla.

Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 minutes.

Fill these same cookies with apricot filling. Pinch of salt 1/4 c. juice from apricots, from cooking

Cook apricots in water; add salt; cook until soft. Mash; add sugar juice and cook over low heat.
