1 c. corn meal
1 c. all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. chopped onion
Milk to make batter stiff

Combine corn meal, flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Beat in egg and onion. Add just enough milk to make batter stiff. Drop from a spoon into boiling fat and fry until golden brown.
