RUSSIAN TEA CAKES 
1 c. soft butter (2 sticks)
3/4 c. sifted confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts (finely chopped to pack)
Additional confectioners' sugar

Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla until smooth. Sift together flour and salt and stir into butter mixture. Stir in nuts. Chill dough. Roll into 1 inch balls.

Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees about 10-12 minutes until set, but not browned. While still warm roll in confectioners' sugar. Cool. Roll in confectioners' sugar again before serving. 4 dozen.
