FRESH FRUIT COMPOTE | |
Pineapple, cut in chunks 1 qt. peaches (I use canned, drained if canned) 1 qt. pears (I used canned, drained if canned) 1 qt. cherries (I often use frozen ones) 1 qt. strawberries (I often use frozen ones) 1 qt. blackberries (I often use frozen ones) Apples Bananas Grapefruit sections Lg. box raisins 1 lb. box powdered sugar You could use any fruit that you would like. Cut everything in a colander. If canned, pour in so that all juice is drained, mix everything together. Put about half in a large bowl (I use a punch bowl). Add half of the box of sugar. Add the remaining fruit, then sprinkle the rest of the sugar over top. Refrigerate. I use my hands to put the fruit into let more juice drain out because the sugar draws the juice out of it in the bowl. The secret is the raisins and confectioners' sugar. |
