POUND CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter (2 sticks)
1/2 lb. Crisco (1 c.)
1 box confection sugar
7 lg. eggs
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 c. plain flour
1 or more tbsp. flavor

Cream butter, Crisco and sugar well. Add 3 or 4 eggs. Add flavor; mix well. Add first cup of flour with baking powder mixed in it; mix well. Add the remaining 2 cups flour slowly, alternating placing the remaining 3 eggs. Beat mixture at least 3 minutes after everything is added. Pour into a well greased pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.

For better cake, sift flour first and measure from sifted flour.
