MRS. WICKS CONGO BARS 
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening
1 lb. pkg. brown sugar
3 eggs
1 c. nuts (optional)
1 pkg. chocolate chips

Mix sifted flour, baking powder, salt and set aside. Melt shortening and add brown sugar; mix well. Add eggs, one at a time. Add dry ingredients, then chips and nuts.
