KENTUCKY BUTTERRUM CAKE 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
3 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cream butter adding sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beat well after each. Add remaining ingredients beating 2 minutes at medium speed. Pour into bundt pan greased on bottom only. Bake 60 to 65 minutes.

BUTTERRUM SAUCE:

1/4 c. water
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. rum flavoring

Add all ingredients but rum flavoring. Heat until butter melts only. DO NOT BOIL. Stir in flavoring.

Prick cake while still in pan and pour sauce over until completely soaked. Cool cake before removing from pan. Optional: Dust with powdered sugar.
