SAND TARTS 
3/4 lb. butter
2 c. sugar
2 lg. eggs
3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Add flour. Shape into cookies by rolling into 1 1/2 inch round rolls and slicing or by making small balls and flattening with the bottom of a glass tumbler. Glaze with a mixture of beaten egg and milk before decorating. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.

A favorite Christmas cookie. Children like to help decorate with red or green cherries, cinnamon sugar and nuts or colored sugar.
