EVONNE GANDY'S ROCKY ROAD
CHOCOLATE CAKE
 
2 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 c. cooking oil
1/4 c. water
3 c. sifted plain flour
3 1/2 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bring to a boil sugar, butter, cooking oil, and water. Sift together flour, cocoa, and soda. Pour flour mixture over sugar and oil mixture, then add eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla. Bake in greased 8 x 14 inch oblong pan for 30 minutes or until done.

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 1/3 c. powdered sugar

Mix and melt in saucepan butter, cocoa, milk, and sugar. Add miniature (2 cups) marshmallows and 1 cup or more chopped nuts. Spread on cake and return to oven for 2 or 3 minutes.
