CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
3 c. sugar
3 c. flour
1 c. milk
5 eggs
2 sticks butter, soft
1/2 c. Crisco
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. vanilla flavoring
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream sugar, butter, Crisco, and eggs. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to first mixture alternately with milk. Add vanilla. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees in well-greased and floured tube pan. Frost when cool.

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
1/2 c. cocoa
1 box powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring

Melt butter. Add cocoa and sugar and just enough milk for spreading consistency. Add flavoring. Frost cake.
