JEAN'S FRIED GREEN TOMATOES 
2/3 c. all-purpose flour or corn meal
2 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
3 lbs. green tomatoes, cut into 1/2 inch slices
Salad oil

About 30 minutes before serving, combine flour, salt and pepper in a pie plate. Dip tomatoes in mixture to coat both sides. In large skillet, over medium heat, heat 1/4 cup salad oil. Fry tomato slices a few at a time until golden on both sides and heated through. Drain on paper towel. Add more salad oil as needed. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
