FRIED GREEN TOMATOES II 
Green tomatoes, slice 1/4" thick
Flour
Pepper
Salt
Vegetable oil

Sprinkle pepper and salt onto flour on a plate. Mix. Dredge slices into flour mix and fry in frying pan in hot oil like you would zucchini slices, until brown. Serve hot.

You can also do this with ripe tomatoes, but it's just not the same. Green ones are more tangy/spicy, but you'll have to beg them from someone with a garden, as they're not sold in the supermarket.
