POOR MAN'S PORK CHOW MEIN
1-2 sm. pork steaks
1 can chow mein noodles
3-4 stalks celery, sliced diagonally
1-2 sm. white onions
Sm. can mushrooms, ends and pieces
1 cube chicken bouillon
Cornstarch to thicken
1 tsp. to 1 tbsp. sugar as desired
2-3 tbsp. soy sauce as desired

Inexpensive as compared to pork chops

Cut pork steaks into small bite-size pieces. Slice onions to produce round rings 1/4 to 3/8-inch thick. Brown pork pieces in skillet. Add celery and onions, let cook 2-3 minutes. Add bouillon cube and 1 cup water.

Add sugar to taste; add soy sauce. Let cook for 2 minutes; stir and mix. Add cornstarch to thicken sauce; cook starch thoroughly. Mix meat and vegetables one last time to coat all surfaces.

Serve over noodles; noodles will absorb juices and be another flavor treat. Serves 4.
