RED VELVET CAKE AND FROSTING 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. oil
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vinegar
1 oz. bottle red cake coloring

Beat eggs. Add sugar, oil and vinegar. Sift together flour and soda. Add flour mixture to egg mixture. Add milk slowly. Add food coloring and flavoring. Cook at 350 degrees for 20 minutes in 3 greased and floured 9 inch layer pans.

FROSTING:

1 box confectioners' sugar
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
1 stick butter

Place cream cheese and butter over low heat. Melt. Add powdered sugar. If necessary, add 2 tablespoons hot water and beat until creamy.
