KRAUT DOGS 
Great tasting... reminds me of the old family picnics we had.

1 (15 oz.) can sauerkraut (Libby's)
1 small onion, died
2 tbsp. oil
1 tsp. brown sugar
dry onion soup mix (Lipton)
water
1 (1 lb.) pkg. hot dogs (your choice)

Put sauerkraut into colander and rinse slightly and drain/squeeze dry. Dice onion and sauté in oil until transparent.

Add sauerkraut and fry until starting to brown on medium high heat, stirring and turning until evenly browned.

Add brown sugar and about 1/2 teaspoon of the dry onion soup mix on top. Add enough water to simmer until kraut is tender.

You can add the hot dogs and simmer until dogs are splitting and cooked.

Serve on buns with kraut on top. Use your favorite topping (ketchup, mustard etc.).
