FRESH APPLE CAKE | |
2 c. sugar 2 c. flour 2 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 stick butter, melted 4 c. chopped apples (Jonathans preferred) 1/2 c. nuts, chopped FROSTING: 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar 3 tbsp. butter 3 oz. Philadelphia cream cheese 1 tsp. vanilla Dash of salt Sift together sugar, flour, soda, cinnamon and salt; add eggs, vanilla, butter, apples and nuts. Mix until all ingredients are blended. Pour into 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes. FROSTING: Beat all ingredients well and spread over hot cake. |
