CHERRY PIE FILLING 
1 can cherries
1 c. sugar
Dash salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. cornstarch

Empty cherries into quart saucepan saving about 1/2 the juice in can. Add salt, sugar, and vanilla to cherries; boil about 5 minutes. Dissolve cornstarch in remaining juice. Add cherries and cook, stirring until thick.
