CHERRY PIE FILLING TO CAN 
6 c. water
Red food coloring (optional)
1 3/4 c. clear jell
4 c. sugar
3 qts. sour cherries, pitted
2 tsp. almond extract

Place water, sugar, cherries and food coloring in a large saucepan and bring to a boil. Mix clear jell and 1 1/2 cups cold water in a bowl and dissolve well. Add to cherry mixture and when thickened, spoon into jars. Cold pack for 20 minutes. Makes 9 to 10 quarts.
