ENGLISH MUFFIN BREAD | |
2 pkgs. yeast 6 c. flour 1 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. salt 2 c. milk 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. water 2 tbsp. cornmeal Combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and soda. Heat liquid to 120-130 degrees. Add to dry ingredients. Beat well. Stir in rest of flour. Spoon into pans - pans greased and sprinkled with cornmeal. Sprinkle remaining cornmeal on top. Cover and let rise 45 minutes (or until top). Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove from pan immediately. Pans are actually juice cans (V-8, pineapple juice, Kool-Aid) so you have round loaves to slice like an English muffin. Toast like a regular English muffin in the toaster. |
