1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs; beat approximately 2 minutes. Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder; add alternately with buttermilk, soda, and vanilla mixture. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased pan. Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees.

Frost when cool with 1 tablespoon butter, 1/2 pound powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla and milk or cream 2-3 teaspoons.
