RAISIN PUFFS 
1 1/2 c. raisins
1 c. water
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt

Boil raisins in 1 cup water until soft. Boil and add soda. Cool. Cream shortening, sugar and add eggs, vanilla, flour and salt. Mix. Add raisins. Drop by teaspoon in white sugar. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 350 to 375 degrees for 12 minutes or until light brown.
