RAISIN PUFFS 
8 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. allspice
2 c. water
4 c. raisins
2 c. shortening
4 c. sugar
6 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. nuts

Add water to raisins and boil until liquid has decreased. Cool and mix first 7 ingredients. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add nuts, beating well after each. Add nuts, vanilla and raisins. Add dry ingredients. Blend well. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet or you can roll in balls and then sugar. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Yields 10 dozen.
