STIR - FRY PORK WITH VEGETABLES
1 lb. boneless pork steak
1/2 lb. fresh broccoli
1/2 lb. carrots
1/4 c. water
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. cornstarch
2 tbsp. oil, divided
1 tsp. garlic salt
Hot cooked rice

Cut pork into 1/8 inch strips. Cut broccoli stems into 1/8 inch thick slices and separate flowerets. Cut carrots into 1/8 inch thick diagonal slices.

Combine water, soy sauce, sugar and cornstarch. Stir until free of lumps. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in wok or 10 inch skillet over medium high heat. Add broccoli stems and carrots. Cook and stir until vegetables are hot but crisp, about 2-3 minutes. Add broccoli flowerets, cook and stir 1 minute. Remove vegetables from wok or skillet. Add remaining tablespoon of oil to wok; heat over high heat.

Add pork strips and cook and stir 4-5 minutes or until meat is lightly brown and tender, stirring constantly. Add soy sauce mixture and cook until thickened. Add vegetables. Serve immediately over rice. Makes 4 servings.
