SPICY FRUIT 
4 oz. dried prunes
4 oz. dried apricots
4 cloves, whole
2 tbsp. finely chopped candied ginger
1 c. water
2 tsp. minute tapioca
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. orange juice
1/2 c. chopped walnuts (opt.)

Tie the whole cloves in a small piece of cheesecloth for easy removal. Place prunes and apricots in a food processor; use a blade chopper and chop fine. Combine the water, chopped apricots, prunes, ginger, tapioca, salt and cloves in a 1 1/2 quart saucepan and bring to a boil. Simmer 1 to 2 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients and heat to boiling. Stir in walnuts. Serve hot or cold, removing cloves before serving.
