POLISH KLUSKI 
2 c. grated raw potatoes
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. flour
Chopped onion
Butter

Drain and squeeze the grated potatoes. Add egg, salt and flour. Form into small balls or drop by teaspoonful into a large kettle of boiling, salted water. Cover, bring to a boil and cook until they float. Transfer dumplings with a slotted spoon onto a hot platter. Saute onions with butter and pour over the dumplings.

I am so excited find this recipe. My Grandma used to make these with a twist. The dumpling were made as directed but she then cubed pork steak, floured the pieces and browned. She then added some of the water, used to boil the dumpling, to the browned pork steak to make a gravy. The dumplings were then added to the pork steak. YUM

They way my family makes them, we fry chopped up bacon with the onions/butter and add that to the dumplings with bit of the grease. Salt and pepper to taste. Also goes great with sauerkraut on top if you like that.
