MONKEY BREAD 
1 pkg. yeast
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. warm water
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. evaporated milk
3 1/2 c. flour

Dissolve yeast in warm water; add other ingredients and mix well. Knead until smooth. Let rise until double in size. Work down and roll thin. cut in 1 1/2-inch diamonds; dip in melted butter and stagger in loaf pan. Let rise about 1 hour. Bake at 350 degrees until done. Real good served with honey.
